The growth mechanism of Al2O3/Al composites by directed oxidation of molten metals

摘要
The process of the directed oxidiation of alloy Al-1%Mg-7%Si was investigated by X-Ray, diffraction (XRD), optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS), which included Evolution of the surface of the melt in the incubation period, nucleation of Al2O3/metal composite and microstructure of Lanxide material its growth front. Some new results about the mechanism of the formation of Al2O3 are involved.
