摘要：

More and more variable renewables are interconnected into power systems through static converters. This brings challenges in evaluating the maximum duration of permissible fault, or better known as the critical clearing time. A novel strategy to assess the critical clearing time that takes static converter limitations into consideration is proposed in this article. The impact of the introduction of the new criteria is also analyzed. The simulations performed in Power Factory platform on microgrids have shown that the usage of static converters might provoke fast frequency and voltage responses and consequently might reduce the critical clearing time.
