Large eddy simulation of channel flow with disturbance

摘要
Large eddy simulation (LES) is carried out to study two-dimensional channel flow with velocity disturbance at the inlet section. The motion of small-scale structures is described by Smagorinsky SGS model with the intermittency modification. The detailed information of transient behaviors of coherent structures in turbulent channel flow is presented and the effect of the inlet velocity disturbance on the evolution of coherent structures is depicted and analyzed. It is found that the inlet velocity disturbance can cause the position where vortices begin to roll-up much closer to the inlet section.
