摘要
The American Solar Energy Society (ASES) and the U.S. Department of Energy sponsor the annual National Solar Home Tour. ASES reports that, for two years running the Tucson Innovative Home Tour has been the largest affiliated local solar home tour, both in terms of the number of houses and the number of people visiting them. Organization and community spirit had a lot to do with this, but it also reflects years of effort in "solar community building" in Tucson to lay a solid foundation for support of solar energy. This paper discusses the home tour as part of a broader framework of local initiatives in solar energy and sustainable development.
