Numerical simulation of the process of nonstationary conjugate heat transfer in turbulent flows of liquid in channels

Calculation of nonstationary conjugate heat transfer in a turbulent flow of liquid with constant properties is performed for an abrupt change in the thermal load with time. Turbulent transfer (turbulent heat flux) is determined on the basis of a model including the effect of nonstationarity. The calculations are made for the Reynolds numbers from 10(4) to 10(6), the Prandtl numbers of 0.7 and 7, the relative wall thickness from 0 to 0.1, and the ratios of the coefficients of thermal conductivity and thermal diffusivity of the wall and of the liquid from 0.1 to 500 and from 0.1 to 50, respectively. The conditions are determined for which the problem of nonstationary heat transfer should be considered in the conjugate formulation. Some special features of heat transfer have been revealed that result from the effect of nonstationarity on turbulent transfer.
