摘要
Introduction: Studies about menstruation show that most adolescent girls do not have adequate knowledge. Therefore, it leads to faulty attitude towards menstruation. This study aims to determine the menstrual profile and level of menstrual knowledge among adolescent girls. Methods: A cross-sectional design study was conducted in 3 state-funded junior high schools in East Jakarta; with ninth grade schoolgirls as respondents. Respondents' characteristic and menstrual knowledge was acquired from the questionnaire. Results: Three hundred twenty-two schoolgirls completed the questionnaire. Most respondents acquired information about menstruation from their mother. 57,5% of respondents have adequate knowledge about menstruation. Conclusion: Generally, menstrual profile among adolescent girls in East Jakarta was within normal limit, and their menstrual knowledge was sufficient.
