摘要
On the basis of factual data obtained by the Soil Science Department of the Privolzhskii Federal University and available from literary, virtual reference "images" of gray forest soils as distinguished in classification systems of 1977 and 2004 have been obtained with the use of the methods of multivariate statistics for the Volga-Kama forest-steppe region. Discriminant functions and have been obtained, and classification functions have been developed with the help of numerical methods to diagnose new representatives of gray forest soils. The virtual "images" of the soils can be used for the improvement of soil systematization and for solving various applied problems of land use.
