Distance learning - a new buzzword in information and documentation

Students of the Fachhochschule Darmstadt, departement of "information and documentation", developed a new project on the information sector, which is called "Distance Learning for IuD". People should have the possibility to learn and study via the internet without any limitation of time and local boundries. The basis at the beginning of this project was a questionnaire which was ment to reflect the wishes and exspectations of the possible users. Nearly 400 people, experts and non-experts, were asked about their demands for such an offer. They were asked for example, if they have the required technical requirements, which kind of contents they desire, how much time they like to spend on their studies and much more. The results were very interesting for the further development of the project.
