The future trend of EMC in Taiwan

Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection (BSMI) has regulated EMC since 1997. It can be said that most of manufacturers are familiar with EMC requirements and regulations since it has been implemented for many years. In order to have this process more understood, I would like to introduce a current BSMI equipment authorization program, including technical document reviews, and possible future actions. This paper discusses a new BSMI's proposal, that will consider deregulate the equipment authorization process for the peripherals equipment of personal computer, that is perhaps a first step towards an equipment approval process that will be consistent with these international developments.
