Ni-YSZ graded coatings produced by dipping

A graded Ni-YSZ composite was produced for applications in SOFC devices by using dipping method. Monolithic coatings with powder compositions of only Ni and Ni-YSZ with YSZ concentrations of 15, 30, and 50 vol.% were prepared by dipping on Ni foils in order to evaluate the sinterability and microstructure of each layers constituting the laminate. YAZ without intermediate compositions, and an outer thin layer of nanosized YSZ was deposited by EPD. The layer was formed by EPD without binders in order to reduce the porosity.
