摘要
This essay represents several years of critical research, writing, and performance. It follows the development and revision of a script that adopted different forms and genres and grew on various stages. Rooted in archival research and auto/biography, this essay explores the agency and innovation of two eccentric Victorian women who wrote drama and poetry under the pseudonym Michael Field. In chronicling the author's relationship to Katharine Bradley and her niece Edith Cooper, this essay (and its accompanying scripts) demonstrates that, when creativity and scholarly criticism meet, the space created often reveals a new self.
