摘要
Commemoration plays a major role in understanding the rupture caused by violent confrontation and in mastering the trauma which usually follows. Remembering, thanks to various acts of cornmemoration, goes along with mourning. The rites date back on the one hand to 1914, when a culture was developed to justify the defence of the country (without being bellicose); on the other hand they date back to in thirties, when a more peaceful culture stemmed from the experience of violence and mass killing, in order to keep violence at bay. In the thirties, the two cultures were in opposition.
