Bibliographic control of serials in the special library

The bibliographic control of serials in special libraries reflects the special librarian's flexibility, adaptability, and dedication to client service, as well as an essentially pragmatic philosophy inherited from Special Libraries Association (SLA) founder, John Cotton Dana. Interviews, and a recent survey, together with the literature, support the premise. The author suggests that continuing concerns will be access to and bibliographic control of electronic journals and the development of full indexing of the serials collection from the local catalog.
