Self-fields in a free-electron laser with helical wiggler and ion-channel guiding

摘要
The self-electric and self-magnetic fields of a relativistic electron beam passing through a helical wiggler and ion channel are analyzed. A numerical study shows that for a low energy, high density beam the self-fields can produce very large effects. (C) 2003 American Institute of Physics.
