摘要
The main challenge in achieving high reliability while using a small portion of a fingerprint for matching is that there may not be a sufficient number of minutiae but the uniqueness of the pore configurations provides a powerful means to compensate for this insufficiency. In this paper a pilot study was performed to test the presented approach confirms the efficacy of using pores in addition to the traditionally used minutiae in fragmentary fingerprint comparison. A simple but efficient sweat pore mapping method based on a TiO2:Ce3+ nanopowders (NPs) were developed for fingerprint analysis. Various characterizations tools were used to study structural, morphological, photoluminescence properties. The prepared nanopowder displays a fluorometric turn-on response upon contact with a small quantity of water secreted from human sweat pores, allowing precise mapping of sweat pores on a fingertip The detail features combining with identified chemical composition were sufficient to establish a human identity and link the suspect to a crime scene. The wide detectable mass range and high spatial resolution make TiO2:Ce3+ a promising tool in accurate and fast analysis of fingerprint, especially in fragmental fingerprint analysis.
