Distribution network management in the competitive electricity market

With opening of electricity markets special requirements are imposed on electricity distribution systems in terms of introducing the changes in the distribution system management model and in the network management. This paper identifies, addresses and considers the fundamental principles of the model developed The functions and tasks of each model levels and the method of its implementation are described. The management should meet the new requirements and be easy adjustable to the changes that are likely to happen in near future with the increasing opening of the electricity markets and the regulations concerning the service quality standards. All these issues are addressed on the basis of the Croatian Distribution System taken as an example.
