Some improvements in the processing of borehole acoustic signals for the characterization of geological structures

摘要
We show how a new type of 3D visualization of the raw data of full waveforms can be used as a method of signal processing, allowing the characterization of fractures, dykes, and soft/hard formation contacts. We provide a method of calculating the interface dip in adequate conditions and we propose a new means of calculating the velocities of all types of waves by 'animation'. Finally we suggest a way to assess the dip azimuths.
