摘要
This review paper highlights recent developments in the research and technology of belt conveying. Attention is given to long overland conveyors where the influence of economic and technical considerations in the design methodology are indicated. The basic design approach is reviewed and aspects of conveyor dynamics are discussed. The need to integrate the bulk solid flow properties into the design process is emphasised. Research and development work concerned with specific subjects including drive drum friction, rolling resistance, condition monitoring and bulk solid and conveyor belt interaction are highlighted. Mention is made of other types of belt conveyors notably the cable belt system, high lift and pipe conveyors. The problem of transferring bulk solids from belt and apron feeders onto belt conveyors is discussed. Relevant aspects of feed chute design for minimum belt wear at the feed point are reviewed.
