Current Situation and Countermeasures of Interpreting Teaching in China

The status quo of market demand for interpreters has presented a tremendous challenge to interpreting teaching in universities.In virtue of the theories and methods of bibliometrics, this paper analyzes the development of interpreting teaching in China from the perspective of time and space development orientation and hence proposes some countermeasures in favor of its future development. The analysis results indicate that: at present, the research of interpreting teaching in China is steadily advancing and developing; interpreting teaching has been comprehensively improved, but the research gross is insufficient and the research topics are disperse, unfocused and incontinuous; research areas of most institutions are relatively narrow and single, and the main topics of each institution are prominent whereas the main institutions of each topic are obvious; three countermeasures are proposed to improve the future development of the interpreting teaching in China.
