摘要
This paper analyzes instances of dialogue in the three poems that comprise the K-I11-4 Escorial NN: Libre de Anclonio, Vida de.Santa Maria Egipciaca and Libro de los toes reyes de Oriente. The objective is to determine how dialogues construct the poems along with the narrative sequences and to define dialogic profiles that characterize the protagonists of these stories as virtuous men and women whose words are true, wise and even holy. Using the framework of discursive traditions and recent analysis of the theme of redeemed versus fallen language in medieval hagiography, this analysis reveals the transcendent nature that language acquires through dialogic sequences reflecting the duality of human words. In conclusion the analysis shows a progression of intensity of the Christian message in the dialogues from the Libro do Apolonio, to the Libro de los tres reyes de Oriente and thus advances a unitary reading of the manuscript.
