摘要
A numerical method for simulation of dynamic indentation is presented in this paper. The method was validated via dynamic indentation experiments with single and triple indenters on Kuru granite. The simulation method includes a constitutive model for rock and a model, implemented in FEM, to simulate the dynamic bit-rock interaction. The constitutive model, being a combined viscoplastic-damage model, accommodates the strong strain-rate dependency of rock via viscoplastic hardening/softening laws both in tension and compression. The indentation experiments were carried out with single and triple-button indenters using a setup similar to percussive drilling. Despite the present continuum approach, the model can capture the salient features of the dynamic bit-rock interaction involved in dynamic indentation and applications alike.
