Porous structure of active carbons determined from the adsorption of water vapors and melting of water and cyclohexane in pores

摘要
The adsorption of water vapors on three types of active carbons produced from starch, fructose, and wood and treated with ammonia Starch (NH3), Fructose (NH3), and Pelto (NH3) is studied. Using the NMR method, the process of freezing and the subsequent melting of the liquids (water and cyclohexane) introduced into the pores is investigated on the same samples. The parameters of a microporous structure (the volume and mean sizes of micropores) determined From adsorption and NMR data are found to be consistent with each other and are indicative of the fact that the adsorption volume in the investigated samples is concentrated mainly in ultramicropores.
