ISOCAM survey of the ρOph young stellar population

摘要
The ISOCAM star formation survey LNORDH_SURVEY1 consists of extensive mappings of several nearby star-forming regions at; 6.8 mu m and 15 mu m (see Nordh et al., this issue). Here we report on first results obtained by this survey concerning the rho Ophiuchi cloud, for which roughly 0.7 square degree were mapped. The present study confirms the ability of dual-wavelength ISOCAM measurements to significantly improve the census of the young stellar population by recognizing a large number of new faint young stars with IR excesses. This allows us to better derivean unbiased luminosity function for the rho Oph protostellar cluster which is found to flatten out for L* < 1 L..
