摘要
The research aimed to conduct an experimental inquiry into the impact of consumer technology acceptance and usage on the psychological well-being of Pakistani users. A sample of 172 individuals aged 15 to 54, residing in Karachi, who were users of at least two or more smart gadgets were classified into two groups (control and experimental group). A pre-test was administered from each group for which both groups received similar tasks. The only difference was that the control group had no access to technology gadgets; whereas, the experimental group was allowed to use their gadgets for the assigned tasks. A post-test was conducted for each group after the completion of tasks. The data was collected through questionnaires and assessed using MANOVA. The results revealed that the use of technology boosted the hedonic, eudaimonic, and social dimensions of psychological well-being. Given that the present study was conducted in experimental settings, there is a possibility that other variables outside the control design could have affected the results. The research increased the awareness that technology brings psychological happiness and supports the mental well-being of an individual and society. This study also confirmed that technology confirmation could have effects on consumer's mental health and well-being.
