Efficient Photocatalytic Degradation of Methyl Orange over Hydrothermally Synthesized Sr2Ta2O7 Nanosheets

摘要
Sr2Ta2O7 nanosheets were prepared via a hydrothermal route and were characterized by XRD, UV-Vis absorption spectra, SEM and TEM. The photocatalytic activity of Sr2Ta2O7 nanosheets was investigated using the degradation of methyl orange as a model reaction. Photocatalytic results show that the Sr2Ta2O7 nanosheets exhibit higher degradation efficiency, 2 times higher than that of the bulk Sr2Ta2O7 sample. The different photocatalytic performances are mainly ascribed to the difference in the crystal size and surface area.
