摘要
This article deals with the theoretical and methodological contributions of the social sciences to address the phenomenon of the expansion and use of the internet in Brazil and the formation of levels of digital inequality. To this end, it focuses on the construction and use of the main concepts and on the emergence and consolidation of a research protocol on digital inequalities. The article demonstrates that Brazilian society has digitalized, but it has done so, as in the case of industrialization, maintaining, and to a large extent even accentuating, offline inequalities.
