摘要
This paper, product of the research project "Theoretical Construct for University Management from the perspective of Transformational Leadership", aims to highlight the characteristics of the transformational leadership that managers (university managers) perceive in the University, in such a way that with their presence it is possible to face the challenges that this institution proposes the society of the XXI Century. To reach this objective, a quantitative, rational and positivist study was used, using the Transformational Leadership model of Kouzes and Posner, and applying the Inventory of Practices of Leadership-IPL-, in 31 universities in Colombia. With these tools, it was possible to answer the research question, finding evidence of Transformational Leadership characteristics, however, according to the literature, they arc still not enough, since the TPL scores do not reach values higher than 3 in a scale of 1 to 5.
