摘要
In the context of a new Educational Reform in Chile, one of the issues gaining relevance is quality: what it means in an educational context; how to move forward in its pursuit and how to secure it. Based on the above, this article intends to contribute to the debate, from the review of international experiences in implementing ISO 9000 and 9001 in educational organizations. ISO 9000 Standards and particularly ISO 9001 are part of a continuously expanding Quality Assurance System, which is involved in an organization's processes, contributing through its order, cleanliness and standardization. From the world of business and labors, this standard has crossed the borders of its origin, by being implemented in several types of organizations of various kinds, including those that focus their activities on teaching and learning processes. Finally, this article proposes a discussion on the relevance of implementing ISO 9001 in professional technical and vocational secondary schools in Chile.
