A Novel Design of Dual-Band Dual-Polarized Base Station Antenna Based on Frequency Selective Surface

摘要
A novel dual-band dual-polarized antenna with frequency selective surface for base station operating over 1.3-2.2 GHz and 3.3-4.0 GHz is presented in this paper. The antenna is composed of a lower-band (LB) element, four upper-band (UB) elements, a frequency selective surface, a metal reflector and some metal baffles. A small overall size of the antenna can be obtained by placing four UB elements upon the LB element which is only 0.57 lambda(0) x 0.57 lambda(0) x 0.28 lambda(0) (lambda(0) is the free-wavelength at 1.75 GHz). In order to reduce the mutual coupling between the LB and UB elements, a frequency selective surface is placed between the UB and LB elements. Simulated results show that the proposed antenna can get a high port isolation and stable radiation pattern over 51% impedance bandwidths in lower band and 19% impedance bandwidths in upper band
