The Categorical System of Roman Ingarden's Existential Ontology

The article deals with the key concepts of R. Ingarden's existential ontology. Main theses of ontological analysis, its kinds and features are examined. Special attention is paid to Ingarden's view that every entity possesses one of the possible modes of being having a defined structure. Consequently, the main content of research consists in a consideration of "existential moments" which constitute various ways of existence. The author makes a conclusion that Ingarden seeks to treat ontology as an independent discipline by means of using phenomenological methods.
