摘要
The requirement for effective measurement and on-line inspecting of biofouling in industrial water process systems is paramount since it has been demonstrated that fouling bacteria exhibit significant resistance to safety in production and increase in living quality. Based on intensity-modulated fiber optic sensor self-referencing interference topology mechanism, a project is presented for the inspection of polycomponent impurity in the fluid medium. Immunity to electromagnetic interference and other influencing factors by which the precision is great improved is also remarkable characteristic. The sensing principle is based on modulation of intensity of light guided in the fiber due to change in the refractive index of the cladding. The paper is mainly for mechanism discussion and essential application research for on-line monitoring of biofouling in industrial water process systems, of impurity pollution in oil pipeline and of dust gathering accumulation in coal mine. It provides a valid technical means for such problems.
