摘要：

This article deals with the constructive and social process of the ancestral rural habitat of north-eastern Algeria. The region covered by the study is located in the north-west of the wilaya of Skikda and includes the communes of Collo, Zitouna, Cheraia and Kanouaa. The article is based on a sociological survey using interviews and questionnaires with the local population. Firstly, it explains this ancestral process and, secondly, it seeks to clarify the reasons why this approach is no longer of interest to the current community.
