RESEARCHES CONCERNING THE MODIFICATIONS OF BOTH STRUCTURE AND PROPERTIES OF THE SURFACE BY ALUMINIZING

The paper presents the results of the researches carried out to improve the surface layers of some products (e.g. tubes, crucibles, gas turbines pallets, cast iron grills, fittings for furnaces, etc) for long-term operation at relatively high temperatures and in highly oxidizing environment. The researches refer to the aluminizing of some components from the agglomerating and heat treatment furnaces of the rolling mills in Iron and Steel Work of Galati. The aluminizing conditions affect the study of some cast irons and steel heat resistance which allows for finding out the best basic components used in the above equipment.
