Network coding has shown the promise of significant throughput improvement. In this paper we study the throughput and the end-to-end group delay in mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) using random linear coding, and propose a two-hop relay scheme based on RLC in the i.i.d. mobility model. We make a formal analysis of the packet delivery process for every group. Finally, we derive the expressions for throughput and a tight upper bound for delay. Extensive simulation and theoretical results validate the effectiveness of the scheme and the accuracy of our theoretical results.
