Phytosociological study in lime processing area of Madhya Pradesh, India.

摘要
Vegetation survey was conducted at different distances (10m, 50m, 100m, 200m, 300m and 500m) along the line transects in lime kiln area in Katni, District Jabalpur, M.P. for the identification of tolerant species. The composition of natural vegetation varied at different sites. The number of species inreased as a function of distance of the sites from the lime kiln. A total of six communities were identified on the basis of IVI values. With the increase of the distance from the lime kiln, there was an increasing trend of diversity index and decreasing trend of dominance index. Equitability index did not show any definite trend with the distance but species richness increased with the increase of the distance.. The wider the distance of the site, closer was the similarities between communities. Although there was a change in species composition at different sites, only few species participated in community formation as dominants or co-dominants. Hyptis and Xanthium and other three/four species dominated at the different stages in varied combinations. The species which were tolerant in lime kiln emission were identified.
