Clinical anatomy of the parotid region in the horse

Based upon the literature and the experience of the authors, an exhaustive list of pathological entities is first presented. Clinically significant anatomical structures of the parotid region are described on six levels, from the most superficial to the deepest structure, i.e. the guttural pouch. The anatomical structures subject to surgical procedures, and important landmarks and approaches for major surgical procedures, are emphasized.
