In this paper we present "Sophroneo: Fear not", a VR horror experience inspired by Japanese folklore. In order to emphasize the supernatural side of the experience we introduce several innovative techniques in the interface of the game system. We utilize various liminal audio design techniques, a custom made wearable thermal feedback setup with water-cooled Peltier TEC elements for long cold sensations as well as physiological signal loops to improve the immersion and to increase the sense of fear and unease. In some parts of the game, the player will be asked to close their eyes and depend on their other senses.
