摘要
Quad-play intends to combine internet access, television and telephone with wireless access. It is a major vision for network convergence in the next generation networks. To deliver the streaming contents to user equipments is a key issue due to the high bandwidth consumption and the geographical spread of end users. Peer to Peer technology is widely adopted for this kind of service. Peer to Peer Streaming Protocol (PPSP) is a signaling and control protocol for peer-to-peer streaming systems for transmitting live and time-shifted media content with near real-time delivery requirements. This paper presents a framework that integrates streaming services by using the PPSP to pave a way to network convergence. The framework includes a HTTP based web portal for streaming content publish, a combination of both SIP and HTTP protocols with PPSP for signaling and a PPSP based Content Distribution Subsystem. The signaling procedures for low latency streaming content delivery from content servers of service provider to user equipments are also presented. The framework is easy to deploy and integrate with current systems to enable new features of the next generation networks.
