On the low-temperature nuclear spin-lattice relaxation in amorphous materials

A study is made of the mechanism of nuclear magnetic relaxation due to the indirect interaction of the nuclear spins with two-level systems. The sources of this indirect interaction are the hyperfine interaction of the nuclear spins with the electron spin and the interaction of the electron spins with the two-level systems. It is shown that the mechanism proposed in this paper is effective under certain conditions. (C) 2000 American Institute of Physics. [S1063-777X(00)00505-3].
