Synthesis, structure and magnetic properties of Fe-doped tetragonal Li0.95Mn2.05O4

摘要
This work presents results of measurements of X-ray powder diffraction, neutron powder diffraction and magnetic susceptibility of lithium deficient Li0.95Mn2.05-xFexO4 (0.0 <= x <= 0.1) spinel samples. Partial substitution of Fe3+ ions restrains the Jahn-Teller effect, owing to the reduction of Mn3+/Mn4+ ratio in tetragonal Li0.95Mn2.05O4. Magnetic susceptibility of a series Li0.95Mn2.05-xFexO4 compounds, with the Fe3+ increasing from x = 0.0 - 0.1, showing the anti ferromagnetic ordering at low temperature. The Neel point increases from 11 K to 27 K.
