Time-varying series method, for simulating earthquake wave

摘要
According to seismic design specifications, simulating earthquake wave is one of the most important parts of building seismic test, which is the key technique to ensure building safety. In this article, a new approach to parametric time series model building for earthquake acceleration records is studied. Earthquake wave shows strong nonstationary characteristics on amplitude and frequency, and it is further found that the white-noise standard deviation, the autoregressive and the moving average coefficients of many strong motion acceleration series vary with time. Therefore, they are time-varying series. A time-varying series analysis and simulation method for earthquake wave is established, and the corresponding artificial earthquake wave can be obtained. Numerical results show that the observed and simulated series make good agreement in both time and frequency domain.
