Optical transition probability of Nd3+ ion in α-Ba3Y(BO3)3 crystal

摘要
Optical absorption and emission intensities have been investigated for the Nd3+ ion in alpha-Ba3Y(BO3)(3) crystal. Based on the Judd-Ofelt theory the spectral parameters were obtained. The intensity parameters Q are: Omega(2) = 0.62 x 10(-20) cm(2), Omega(4) = 0-90 x 10(-20) cm(2), Omega(6) = 1.06 x 10(-20) cm(2). The radiative lifetime is 1104 mus, and quantum efficiency is equal to 6.9%. The fluorescence branching ratios are: beta(1) (0.88 mum) = 0.4050, beta(2) (1.06 mum) = 0.4897, beta(3) (1.35 mum) = 0.1000 and beta(4) (1.88 mum) = 0.0053.
