BRAS DE PINA: "INTERACTION CONTEXTS ", REPRESENTATIONS AND LEVELS OF PARTICIPATION

The urbanization of Bras de Pina, developed empirically, enrolling its residents, can show limits and potentialities imposed at the effective popular participation. In this regard, the aim is to identify links between the "contexts of interaction ", representations of stakeholders involved and participation levels achieved in the processes of design and execution developed during this experience. Using the participation typology proposed in Arnstein (2002) -the "ladder of citizen participation ", was possible to conclude that neither the "contexts of interaction ", nor the representations of technicians and residents were definitive for the scope of the proposed participation.
