摘要
"Ubiquitous death. Conditions of work and mortality in the Ruhr coal mining industry up to First World War". The mining industry in the German Empire was shaped by high mortality rates among the young miners. Apart from the generally bad working conditions for this in particular sociological parameters were responsible: On the one hand questions of the operational organization (vocational training, hierarchies), on the other hand the specific environment of the young miners. Within the mining culture different forms of the reaction to (premature) death developed. This shows up in particular in the mastering strategies", which ranged from the spectrum of God-intended fate, accusing rage up to military heroism.
