摘要
The applied Physics Laboratory designed and constructed a bistatic continuous-wave radar system for experiments in aircraft wake vortex detection. Acoustic pumping was evaluated as a possible technique to enhance overall performance. The radar and acoustic systems were installed at the Baltimore-Washington International Airport in the fall of 1996. Controled experiments using a NASA C-130 aircraft are discussed, and some preliminary results are presented.
