International joint venture provides advantage to parent companies, for instance by gaining quick access to new resources. However, its equity share gives rise to complexities involving control issues. At the same time, different contract type will bring different kind of control power distribution. The paper first studies joint ventures types, then on the base of analysis about risk control in joint venture, draw a conclusion of some risk control factors, such as expatriate staffing, socialization practices, delegated decision-making responsibilities, parent company communications and manager performance incentives. It has a realistic significance in a certain extent to enrich the theories research on trans-corporation and in the practice of joint venture operating.
