A proportional differentiated services scheme for optical burst switching networks

摘要
Optical Burst Switching (OBS) has been proposed to be a promising switching technology for the next optical transport network. In this paper, a simple and efficient scheduling scheme with Quality of Service (QoS) support is introduced to handle data bursts due to their priorities in bufferless OBS networks. The scheme use our proposed Dynamic Data Channel Selection (DDCS) technology to adjust the candidate wavelengths of each class dynamically. Simulation results show controllable and predicable proportional service differentiation can be achieved. We also compare DDCS scheme with conventional dropping scheme to conclude that DDCS scheme has better performance.
