摘要
prophet is a person that, using a contemporary rhetoric, fortells a better future for the society in which he/she lives in, and describes the human condition and its fall using literary tools. This fall is the main subject of many such prophecies. In the Romanian movement of Biedermeier romanticism, a series of writers - such as Ion Heliade Radulescu, Nicolae Balcescu, Mihail Kogalniceanu, Vasile Carlova, Cezar Bolliac and others - embody what we may call, the time of the prophets", according to the demands of the national movement. In the name of these demands - political, social, economical and cultural - the literary prophets rise for the people, and their prophecy concerns the social despair, the rights of the peasants, national liberty, development of culture and correlation with the western societies, in a tone specific to a culture at its wake and in the moment of revolutionary times.
