摘要
Currently, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) is commercially available in the market for gasoline engine. Nevertheless, there is further research on LPG fueled gasoline engine need to be done to improve the emission characteristics. Because emission characteristics depend on conversion kit efficiency and properties of LPG. The LPG is a gas-formed fuel which replaces a small portion of air during intake into the cylinder that occurs incomplete combustion, hence HC increases. Therefore, an optimized fuel injection system for LPG fueled gasoline engine is necessary to achieve higher performance and lower exhaust emissions. This paper presents experimental results obtained from bench tests of a gasoline engine using LPG to measure brake power, CO and HC emissions. The results showed that LPG produced 17% higher brake power with a net reduction of CO emission as compared to conventional gasoline fuel. Other exhaust emissions has been presented with details results and discussion.
