摘要
The effect of predatory mite kairomone on the avoidance behaviour of the spider mite Tetranychus urticae was investigated. Spider mites clearly discriminate between leaf discs, previously incubated with 5 or 10 predatory mites (Phytoseiulus persimilis), and control leaf discs. The effect of the kairomone was apparent after two h, since introduction of the spider mites. No relaxation of avoidance behaviour was found if the predatory mite kairomone became older (up to 4 days). The function of this kairomone for both prey and predator is discussed.
